EThis week at #cultivamoscon we have visited the Cartago Museum, one of the largest collections of antiques in Spain, it is located in Murcia, specifically in the district of Los Martínez del Puerto. Enrique Saura, son of the founder of the collection, received us there.

When did your interest in collecting?

Let's say our museum's history began when my father was about 28 years. I remember the collection began with the Citroën 11 1934 Lightweight, a model that was the first car with front-wheel drive in history and proved to be a leading innovation for the time. The fondness for cars came through the restoration, my father rescued models in different states of conservation and returned to its original state, like the bikes, which very young also liked best. To make restorations have bought pieces both inside and outside of Spain since being some very exclusive models spare parts were hard to get.

How your entire collection, which is the object that has more sentimental value?

Despite the fact that the collection is very large and varied and that we treat each piece with great affection, with toys we have a special feeling. If we had to choose, it may be that the recreation of the Bugatti Type 35, which was the first electric toy car in history, is the chosen one. It must be borne in mind that in the 20s all toy cars were pedal-powered and this model burst with an electric motor, which made it one of the most exclusive of the time. We managed to get one and it is in a totally original state.

A piece that you love to have ... the truth is that almost everything we have searched for, although sometimes it has not been easy, has ended up being added to our collection. If I could tell you about cars one of the models that my father likes and that we don't have; the 280 Mercedes Pagoda 1970SL, maybe we'll add it in the future.

¿Coleccionarías objects now?

I honestly do not would collect anything contemporary. Currently all have relatively easy access to access any goods or services and that makes us lose the magic of collecting. We believe that when you collect anything charm is that it is exclusive, limited and have some seniority.

Melons Grandfather is a brand of old and we have a very important historical value. What inspires our brand?

It inspires me the taste of before, aged, natural, real fruit flavor, and the times are grateful to eat a melon to know as lifelong.

From Melons Grandfather We thank Carthage museum The letting us enjoy one of the largest historical exhibitions in Spain, if you have turned I left wanting more you can take a virtual tour entering its website: http://www.museocartagocoleccion.org/
